A shy, less agressive person tends to get over looked in many things, not just by the opposite sex in the dating world, I hate to tell you! It’s the old “squeeky wheel gets the grease” in so many situations—if people don’t hear you they tend to forget or overlook you, and focus on those who are in their face or who at least are more assertive and can’t be overlooked as easily. As you say, it probably is something that we are born with, and have survived over the years because of–the tendency of some men to play the “peacock”–to be louder, bolder and more agressive/assertive than perhaps they need to be. And some women ARE going to go for that–but some women might also be turned off by that peacock! I wouldn’t take shyness as that you are socially UNacceptable to women.
