Is sodium chloride soluble in hexane?

NaCl is NOT soluble in hexane. We did this experiment in my chemistry class so I know this statement is definately correct, however I’m not sure why. I know it has something to do with the ionic bonding of sodium chloride being able to overcome the single bonds of hexane.
