Is taking 10 advil tablets an overdose?
It depends. One or two doses of a high mg of ibuprofen isn’t necessarily bad for you. Doctors offer prescriptions of ibuprofen that are 800 mg per tablet (same as taking 8 of the over-the-counter pills) However, most prescriptions are only for a week to 10 days, so taking 10 per day, every day, long term is not recommended. Besides, if you are having chronic pain that requires you to take high doses of analgesics, and you aren’t getting any relief, you should see your doctor anway. Also, if you are sensitive to ibuprofen, or any of the fillers in the tablets, it might not be so good for you. Or if you are a child. I would call taking 10 advil tablets “not according to package directions.” In that sense, I guess it is an overdose, but whether it is harmful … probably not.
