Is tempura batter the same batter thats on fish and chips?

Tempura batter is lighter, less greasy, crisper than normal fish and chips batter, especially if, like the other guy said, if you go to a low end place like long john silvers. Tempura batter has rice or corn starch, and baking power/baking soda in it. Some good resturants actually DO use tempua batter when the sell “fish and chips”. Of course I’ve been to good chip stands that are BETTER than some resturants who served greasy, doughy tempura.
