Is testing with TROPT sensitive suitable for patients with renal failure?
Elevated values of troponin T have been frequently reported in patients with chronic renal failure. It is known that cardiac events are the leading cause of death in patients with end-stage renal disease. There is good evidence that cardiac troponin T elevations in chronic renal disease identify patients at high risk for subsequent cardiac events.
