Is the 3,000 W DC-DC converter significantly underpowered to support extended EV mode?
The Enginer kit makes compromises between cost and short range EV performance. This design still relies on the ICE for higher speeds and harder acceleration, which the ICE was designed for. However, 3,000 W is adequate for cruise at speeds less than 35 MPH on flat ground. This significantly reduces the cost of the kit and discharge current to prolong battery life.
