Is the anxiety medicine Xanax addictive?
Xanax is EXTREMELY addictive. Usually doctors only prescribe it as a last resort if other anti-anxiety meds don’t work. Your body also becomes very tolerant of the drug very quickly. I actually went to taking 0.5mg as needed for anxiety, and I’m now up to 2mg three times a day because my body has become so tolerant of it. Basically, if you need it, take it. But take it exactly as prescribed, and for the shortest amount of time possible!
