As a student at SFU you would want to live in neighborhoods of Burnaby like Forest Hills or West Ridge. Basically any place north of highway which divides Burnaby. In this area you could walk to the university and save lots of money of gas and vehicle, or public transport. The university grounds has pubs and things to do at night. You might also consider living on the southern side of highway 1 in Burnaby in districts like Metrotown, Forglen, or Deer Lake. Public transport is fairly good and you won’t have a problem catching a bus to SFU. Burnaby is quite a metropolitan city on its own with lots of nightclubs, bars, and other fun things. These are concentrated around Metrotown for the most part. Stay away from Hastings Street and Vancouver North in general east of Carral St!!!!!!!!!! I wouldn’t live in Vancouver period unless you were attending UBC. The rents are very high in good neighborhoods like False Creek, English Bay, and Kerrisdale.
