This depends on the type of insurance coverage the patient has and whether the service is considered “Medically Necessary” by the patient’s insurance carrier.  more

Whether your ambulance ride is covered by insurance is relative to your provider. If your policy only allows for ambulance rides under medical emergencies and your ambulance ride is not classified as such, you will likely need to pay for the entire bill out of pocket.

You might also have to pay a portion of the ambulance ride bill if you have insurance that has a deductible that must be met before it is covered.
