The following account recalls exactly what happened to me in one wild day. Outside my apartment I could hear the phone ringing. Throwing the door open and tossing my book bag on the sofa, I grabbed the receiver just before it clicked over to the answering machine. “Hello.” “Mr. Dalton, this is Susan G. Olddigger. I was just calling to inform you that your classes have been dropped and your student employment canceled. We were forced to take these actions because of your failure to pay the first two tuition payments.” “Wait a minute! What the hell are you talking about. My financial aid covered the first payment.
