Is the Black Mat PRO environmentally conscious?
We consider a PRO purchase an environmentally conscious choice. PVC in general is not environmentally friendly. However, because our mats are designed for durability and last a lifetime (or two!) they rarely end up in landfills like inexpensive sticky mats. One of the hazards of PVC is that it seeps toxins once in a landfill and that toxins are often released during the manufacturing process. We are happy to report that that the PRO manufacturing process is certified emissions free and therefore has less of an impact on the environment. Eco-responsibility starts by reducing consumption. The product’s durability will drastically reduce the amount of yoga mats bought and thrown out into landfills. It also allows people to donate the mats when they are ready for something new to people who may not be able to afford a new yoga mat.
