Is the clamour for ailing President Umaru Yar’Adua resignation justified?
During our stakeholders meeting, it was among the issues that came up in our communiqué. We also prayed for his health. With the way things are going, we felt his health is more important to Mr. President and Mr. President should deem it necessary to take care of his health. Nigeria is quite a large country, a of lot things have been stagnated now because of the absence of Mr. President. We need to follow what the Constitution says. It is unfortunate that people are playing politics with it. It is so bitter and disappointing. A section of the country is now viewing at it, that it is a birthright that the President should remain in office, when we have a sitting Vice President, who is supposed, by the Constitution should take over. The Vice President is in a better position to take over should Mr. President’s health deteriorate. We are in support that the Constitution should be followed.
