LC: “Why is there a “war on electronic music”? How come no one is having a war on GANGSTA RAP? Rarely is there violence in any electronic or dance music. Our lyrics with some extreme exceptions are predominately about love and beauty, life and expression. In fact most of dance music is empowering. But some people believe if you drink a water and dance to trance you are some kind of druggie. Get real. Why don’t they pass a law that would come down on performing violent songs in public? Inciting riots and influencing people to perform violent acts seems to be ok. It’s so ridiculous. I am amazed that the only genre of music that has tolerance and understanding of all religions, ethnic and sexual preference is the same one some government official feel is threatening! This question could not have been asked at a better time. Over this weekend two of NYC’s Mega Clubs EXIT and Sound Factory were closed by the NYPD. Due to an ongoing drug related investigation. Just really sad, I doubt anyone
