All denote a specialization in the field of lactation management: the the first three are roughly equivalent. However, to become a board certified lactation consultant you must meet all the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) requirements for education and clinical practice in lactation management prior to taking their exam, which is offered once yearly. PCE’s breastfeeding counselor certification course can be a stepping stone in this process, offering 16 L-cerps (IBLCE’s continuing education units).
