Is the EFA just a functional capacity evaluation (FCE)?
No. The EFA is a medical diagnostic tool utilized by licensed medical professionals who desire objective measurement of muscle activity while the patient is engaged in activity. This dynamic integration provides objective analysis of Type I versus Type II motor units, which correlates with effort produced by the patient. Since the EFA monitors EMG activity during range of motion and FCE, it does not require “a co-efficient of variants”, i.e. you always get a valid result utilizing the EFA.
