The Alexi-200 is an awesome guitar, I had that before I got the Alexi-600, and for metal, it is just awesome. It plays great, sounds great, and looks cool. Now obviously we’re using different guitars, but my experience with the 200 is the same as my current one, put it through a decent amp, and you can play all sorts of stuff, I did some blues with it and it sounded great. It’s affordable, great quality, highly recommend. If you really don’t have a budget, I would seriously consider the Alexi-600, it has scalloped frets from 20-24 to make the guitar sound brighter when playing solo’s high up, some extra cutaway to help out to. The EMG in it gets both low heavy rhythms and bright leads that standout in a band. You still get great tones through the right amp, (I use a marshall stack and play blues jazz and metal, all sounding great with one guitar) and I prefer this guitar to my Les Paul.
