Is the FLEX-1500 capable of transmitting outside of the ham bands for use as an exciter for microwave converters?

The FLEX-1500 hardware can provide this capability, down to 1.8 MHz., provided that the user understand that the radio may not meet transmit harmonic filtering requirements outside of the ham bands, suitable for direct connection to an antenna. This is normally not an issue when used as an IF deck for a microwave transverter. The FLEX-1500 will have to meet the F.C.C. requirements of being restricted to transmitting in the ham bands just like all FlexRadio Systems software defined radios. It will be possible to provide a special firmware load in the future which is restricted to licensed radio amateurs upon written request, that allows 1.8 to 54 MHz transmitting, without meeting transmit harmonic suppression required for direct connection to an antenna.
