Is the Government planning any further changes to the SEN and disability statutory frameworks for schools?
The Government is not planning any further changes to the statutory framework for SEN and disability in schools. The SEN Strategy: Removing Barriers to Achievement was launched in February 2004. It concentrates on providing practical support for teachers and schools, LEAs and other partners. The aim of the Strategy is to help overcome the barriers to learning faced by children with SEN and disabilities. Ensuring that they are able to make the most of the opportunities in school, both academic and social, and go on to fulfil their potential.
