Is the hospitality industry a good career path?

The hospitality management field can be both interesting and exciting. You have the opportunity to begin working right out of high school, or to pursue a technical or university degree. Many respected schools such as Purdue University have 2 and 4 year degrees in restaurant and hotel management. Several friends of mine graduated with such degrees and now have good paying jobs managing properties for companies like Hyatt, Sheraton and Hilton. Another has her own restaurant. One interned at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC, and now works there. You will work-hard, you’ll work long hours, but they can be fun hours!. Pay can range from minimum wage for entry jobs, to well over $100,000/ year with experience. Good luck to you!
