No, No, No. While the Internet is very popular with customers interested in travel, most are only browsing, few are buying. Also many of the most popular websites are travel agents. Airlines are currently getting approximately twenty percent of their total volume from the Internet and that percentage has a high no-show factor. And, travel agents still issue about 80 percent of all airline tickets. Add to this the fact that the largest number of people in the U.S., in terms of age, are people over the age of 45 and most of them received no computer training as part of their formal education.
