Is the knob on the Caldero Lid oven safe?
The knob on the Caldero is Bakelite, therefore it will melt if put inside the oven. However, there are two things that can be done to avoid damage. First, the knob can be unscrewed for the time the Caldero is inside the oven. Secondly, it can be covered with aluminum foil to protect the knob and it will resist a max of 475°F. Another easy way: When cooking with your IMUSA Caldero in the oven, remove the lid. Instead of the lid, cover it with aluminum foil and place it in the oven.
