The Texas Board of Legal Specialization oversees a testing and certification process for attorneys who want to advertise an expertise in family law. Certification of special competence in family law is no guarantee that the lawyer will meet your needs, and may excellent lawyers choose not to be certified as specialists. Specialization does show the attorney’s commitment to special competence in family law.
