Is the Mega Man 10 game on its way via WiiWare?”
Believe it or not, Mega Man 10 is in production; and that art shown above, that’s the game’s retro-styled promo art. Looks like it’s following the same route Mega Man 9 did. The game, announced in the latest Nintendo Power, has only been confirmed for WiiWare so far, but since Mega Man 9 was on all three platforms, we’re assuming this will be, too. “New challenges! New bosses!,” and “Retro fun!” are all promised for the latest installment. Mega Man’s “brother” Proto Man plays a vital role in this game, helping him fight a vaccine-making device needed to cure robots of Robotenza, which is a virus that causes infected robots to go haywire. A third playable character will also be available, but Capcom’s not ready to reveal him/her just yet. There’s a new boss named Sheep Man too. He looks plain silly, but I think we can all adore his attempt at looking tough. I’ve sent an e-mail over Capcom’s way to see if they can confirm this for PS3 and 360. Stay tuned for an update.
Mega Man 10 has just been revealed as a WiiWare release (XBLA/PSN surely to follow), thanks to this Nintendo Power scan available on the print magazine’s official Web site. I’m sure the link will be taken down, but what’s important is that now, you and I both know that Mega Man 10 is going to happen. AND-OH-F*CK-MEGA-MAN-10-SHEEP-MAN-WHAT-THE-F*CK! The only substantial details we have on the game right now is that Capcom is sticking with the 8-bit style, that the story is about finding a robo-vaccine for robo-virus called robotenza, and that three playable characters will be available at the start: Mega Man, Proto Man, and a third unnamed character (please-be-Mega-ManX-please). Also, one of the bosses will be called Sheep Man. The name is totally stupid, but I don’t care. What’s important here is that Mega Man 10 is going to happen. OK, need to stop typing now. Crying tears of joy. Need to dance. Need to run into streets; kiss strangers.
