Is the MFM program designed for actuaries?

0

Not specifically, though our program was designed to emphasize insurance products, because the Twin Cities area has so much involvement in that industry. Two of our Advisory Board members are FSAs, and one of them teaches a four-week mini-course, as a part of FM 5032, see http://www.math.umn.edu/~garyh/FM5032.html This course teaches the pricing and hedging of modern insurance products. While some of the material we teach overlaps with some parts of the actuarial exams, we do not offer any direct help in passing those exams.
