The mother is not needed for DNA Paternity test sample collection and analysis. A test can be accurately performed and tested using samples from only the father and the child in question. Tip: If you are a possible father to a child from a woman that is a mother to an existing child or children of yours, you may want to ensure that your buccal swap sample collection is done discreetly and kept in a secure place until mailed. There have been instances where mothers of existing children have secretly exchanged buccal swab samples with existing children to provide false test results.
