This is more of a matter of personal preference. Some of the functionality of the Reader is lost when the PDF document is opened in a browser window. For example, in the browser window, you do not have the Adobe Reader menu line and cannot use CTRL + various keys to operate the Reader software. Additionally, direct connection to Adobe’s online help is not available when the Reader opens within the browser. However, most of the functions are accessible by using the menu or shortcuts when the Reader opens in its own window. These can be accessed using the various button icons that remain available when the Reader is opened within the browser.
