Is the Park District part of the Northbrook Village?
The Northbrook Park District is a separate unit of government from the Village of Northbrook. The Park District is authorized by legislation to levy and collect taxes, and to establish local policy, ordinances, and resolutions to enact and complete its purpose. As a Park District, the Northbrook Park District’s purpose is to acquire and maintain land and facilities for park and recreational purposes, and organize and supervise planned recreation programs. The Park District encompasses most of the Village of Northbrook.
