Is the per course tuition deposit counted toward the total cost of tuition?

Yes. The 10 percent per course tuition deposit that is required upon notice of acceptance for first-time applicants or upon registration for SAIS affiliates, is applied toward the total cost of tuition. For example, a recently accepted non-degree applicant who is taking one Summer Course (2008 tuition = $2,460) must submit a $246 deposit upon notification of acceptance. That student would then have a $2,214 tuition balance that is due by May 17, 2010. Similarly, a returning non-degree student seeking to enroll in Novice High Arabic (tuition = $1,900) would submit a $190 deposit upon registration and would have a $1,710 tuition balance due by May 17.
