Is the President of Iran a good representative of Islam?
The question should not be whether he is a good representative of Islam because Islam is not like Catholicism for example- we don’t have a central religious authority who can claim to represent the entire muslim world. Your question should be about Iran’s foreign policy. You are confusing religion with politics. About the death to america thing. You do realize that the Iranian people are the most pro-american in the middle east, apart from Israel. The government on the other hand, needs its people to concentrate on hating america, because most of the iranian public is against the theocratic rulers. So when the American politicians use negative rhetoric against the iranian govt, the people begin to support their government because anything that smacks of western imperialism is hated…remember 90% of the muslim world lived under colonial rule.
