Is the rise of Christian fundamentalism & creationism in the UK a worry?
Fundamentalism (of whatever persuasion) – yes, that is dangerous no matter how many, or few, there are. Creationism – no, that’s merely a way of trying to explain the reason/cause of existence. The two are not the same thing. Don’t assume just because someone is a creationist that they are a fundamentalist.
It’s a good thing. As educational levels rise more and more people who have been raised in a faith will question that faith, and begin to think for themselves. The ones who think for themselves will mainly become agnostics or atheists, get good educations and good jobs – and move off the radar as far as religion is concerned. With all the good people gone, all you have left is the tards who need a simplified and dumbed down religion (so they get to go out somewhere on the weekend). This is what Evangelical Christianity is about. Better that they become Primitive Baptists than Muslims – though they won’t be that much of a problem either way. The only reason Creotards became a problem in the US was that Ronald Reagan gave them power in exchange for votes. A politician as dumb as Reagan would never stand a chance in Europe.
