For developing and prototyping, you don t need a multi-node cluster, therefore, by definition, you do not need the Tandem ServerNet cluster interconnect mechanism. However, if you wish to deploy a NonStop SQL/MX or NonStop TUXEDO for Windows NT Server application in a clustered configuration, you will need ServerNet because that is how the nodes in the cluster will communicate with each other.
