Yes. In this context TESOL and TEFL can be used interchangeably. The Trinity College CertTESOL course is very similar to the Cambridge CELTA course and is an internationally recognised TEFL qualification (both the CELTA and the CertTESOL are accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority as a level 4 qualification). The course may also be referred to as an “ELT” (English Language Teaching) qualification..
