Is the US economy improving?
The stock market is rising because those who buy (gamble) on stocks think that others who gamble on stocks will make the prices of stocks go up so it’s okay to be gambling again. That doesn’t mean the economy is improving. It just means that stock buyers are back to gambling. Since people are still losing their jobs and since states (at least California) is finding ways to increase taxes/fees to pay for their poor budget(s), the economy is NOT improving. At least, it’s not improving due to anything that Obummer did since his “bailout” isn’t even supposed to kick in yet (he said his plan will create new jobs this summer and summer has hardly gotten started). The economy might be improving because people THINK Obummer’s plan is working, they are spending more, and that’s helping create a demand for goods/services so more people will be working.
