Is the use of medical marijuana legitimate or legalized abuse?
It is frequently argued by the DEA and politicians that there are pharmaceutical drugs that can do anything marijuana can do. Well, that is partially true, but they cannot always do it as well. One well known case if this is in regards to severe nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy. There are many pharmaceuticals available to treat this, however even the latest and greatest often fail. There is even a pharmaceutical version of pure THC, a component of marijuana. Strangely enough, it also often fails or produces side effects that the patient may not tolerate. When looked at further, one will find that there are over 30 individual chemicals in marijuana that can act on the body. It is this synergistic effect which provides the usefulness and benefits.
