You can shoot low pressure shells in it but not the mags. You would be well advised to have a gunsmith check it over to make sure you don’t have excessive head space. Another thing you might want to consider is reloading your own very low pressure shells. They use these in Cowboy action shoots and some of those guys when they start will even shoot factory loads. Personally, I would reload a low pressure shell in an all brass shell. You can pick them up from midway or anyone stocking cobboy action stuff. There are also some look alikes now and if you really want to shoot a lever shotgun, you would have less to worry about if you just bought one. The value of the gun is highly subjective. They are popular but personally if I had one I think I would shoot it a few times (I won’t own a gun I can’t shoot). Then I would clean it and hang it on the wall if it gives you any trouble at all. If it works, take up handloading and have a blast. Very fun gun and very popular now.
