Is the writing on the wall for Kevin Harvick and Richard Childress?

We again find ourselves with news about Kevin Harvick being on his way out at Richard Childress Racing. There have been attempts to extinguish this fire on more than one occasion by Richard Childress himself. Kevin certainly hasn’t pulled any punches in making his opinion of the situation known. I have said it before, and I will say it again. If there is one truth in NASCAR, when a rumor breaks, there is usually good reason. In this case, this one is persistent. Unlike the contracts in the NFL, NBA, and MLB, NASCAR contracts aren’t necessarily guaranteed. Even in the case of the other sports, I guess they aren’t either. In NASCAR, the owner of the team is usually required to pay out the remainder of the contract to the drivers.
