Is there a ban on the public consumption of alcohol for South Ayrshire?
Public drinking is often a nuisance and can greatly hamper the quality of life for residents in a particular area. South Ayrshire Council has implemented byelaws not only to ban drinking in public places but also to make it an offence to be in possession of an open container containing alcoholic liquor in a designated public place. These byelaws apply to identified towns and villages throughout the authority area.
