The benefits of weight loss surgery have been proven for individuals with a BMI of at least 30 with weight related health problems (co morbidities) and for all individuals with a BMI greater than 35. There is no upper limit for BMI, but if patients have a BMI greater than 70 we may suggest some non-surgical options to reduce your weight prior to surgery.
