Is there a difference in the two books of “Wicked?”?
Well, the one with the circle cut out of the cover where you open it to find a larger picture is the original cover for the novel. The one with the logo from the musical is the musical tie-in edition, and it has pictures from the original broadway cast in the middle. The two are exactly the same. The book is the basis for the musical and is a very heavy read. It is an adult novel not only for the occasional use of swear words and the sex, but because it deals heavily with religion and politics. The begining is slow, but I like it because of the background it gives to later happenings. If there are parts of the book that confound you, go to: http://www.gregorymaguire.com/discussion… It’s the official Gregory Maguire discussion boards, and if you look through the pages in the Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West forum, or do a search, you’ll probably find something to help you
