Well there’s the sombrero and the boot, which will clue you in that someone is from Durango. A lot of folks were the guayabera. There are others who wear full suits. There’s a little of everything, but there’s no dress code per say that you need to wear in order to be able to dance to Duranguense music. The person without the sombrero dances the same as the guys with one. You can be in sneakers and dance it all the same. It’s a dance craze with no real definition of how you should dress for it. A lot of Duranguense groups go through break-ups or lead singers leave the group to start new groups. Why is that? There needs to be camaraderie in a group in order for it to work. I feel that there comes a time when the group starts rising and starts making money, but at the same time that all means that there will be more work. A lot of times people aren’t up for the amount of work that goes into this or up for some of the other things that come with notoriety. That’s were the problems start.
