Yes. Food has complex effects on tizanidine pharmacokinetics, which differ with the different formulations. Peak Plasma levels of tizanidine when administered with food: • Increase 30% when taking tablets • Decrease 20% when taking Zanaflex Capsules These changes may result in increased adverse events or delayed/more rapid onset of activity, depending upon the nature of the switch. Click Here to find out more. Important Safety Information The use of fluvoxamine or ciprofloxacin is contraindicated with tizanidine. Tizanidine occasionally causes liver injury. Use only with extreme caution in patients with impaired hepatic function. The most common adverse events are dry mouth, somnolence, asthenia, dizziness, and increased ALT.
