As far as I know, VMware vCenter Converter supports and recognizes most server hardware types. Still, nothing stops you from writing an email on their website or contacting their support team by a phone call if you are not sure about something. I also needed this software for a project, but before I bought it, I got the support team explaining how I can use this app and where I need to use this pp. If you are interested and you want to know more, you can look through vmware vsphere web client download. I am sure you will find something for you there.
