Is there a home remedy for the pain caused from dry socket?

DO NOT gargle with warm salty water or anything. The reason you have a dry socket is that the blood clot is missing causing the break down of the healing process. Any harsh gargling, swishing, sucking (as in a straw), smoking, etc causes the much needed blood clot to dislodge. A dry socket is created from lack of proper post-surgery care or can just be an act of nature. I would try to speak to a dentist. The gum is separating from the bone causing the pain. I dentist will clean it out and pack it with pain reliever/antibiotic paste or poultice. I had 2 dry sockets side by side. The only relief I received from home was anti-inflammatory medicine like Ibuprofen and ice packs.
