ProudMum is right, I too have also heard about the timing of intercourse to improve chances for gender. and currently trying for a boy too, hubby and I have 2 girls together but hubby also has 2 older girls to a previous marriage (we have full custody) so 4 girls is ample enough here in this house lol, a boy would be nice lol (although a girl would be welcomed and loved as much as well).Time intercourse for day of and day after ovulation, don’t do the horizontal tango 2-4 days before ovulation as that’s more likely to be a girl (so they say). This whole method of timing intercourse is known as the Shettlers or Shettles method, (something like that anyway).. Good luck and lets hope and pray we both get lucky with blue sticky babydust!

There are theories backed by scientific evidence that the close-timing of intercourse will cause the odds of conceiving a baby boy to increase. Having sex as close as possible to ovulation day may increase chances, just as couples trying for girls are advised to have sex before and after ovulation, avoiding the actual day if possible. This is down to the male sperm being faster and also fading more quickly if they aren’t able to fertilise the egg. Female sperm are thought to be slower and more durable. http://pregnancy.lovetoknow.com/wiki/How… Some information out there seems a little ‘superstitious’ to me, i.e. ‘optimal times of day to baby dance’ or certain foods to increase the odds. There’s no harm in trying though! Your partner might want to start tracking her BT [Base temperature] if she hasn’t started already. This helps to predict more accurately when ovulation will occur. Good luck!

Hi there Well I have both a boy and a girl and I believe that my husband and I planned the gender of our kids. The key to gender selection is all about timing intercourse when you are fertile in your cycle. So before you do anything you need to get to know your menstrual cycle and when you ovulate and how to recognise ‘signs’ that your body gives off prior to ovulation. I figured all this out by taking my temp orally every morning (before I got out of bed) and recording it on an on-line graph (www.fertilityfriend.com) so I could see on what day during my cycle I ovulate. When you have figured this out it is then that you can time intercourse so that you can increase your chances of either having a boy or a girl. So the theory is that if you BD 2-3 days BEFORE ovulation and only then (no BDing the day before or on the day of ovulation) you increase your chances of having a baby girl (it is believed that the girl sperm are stronger than boy sperm and by the time you ovulate only the girl
