Is there a nursing shortage at St. Lukes?

0

There is not a nursing shortage at St. Luke’s. We have some positions open in different areas, but we have less than 1% vacancy rate. St. Luke’s continues to look for ways to enhance the work environment for nurses and all associates. We do this by offering flexible schedules. Some of the schedule options are 8 hour shifts, 12 hour shifts and — in a few units — we offer 9 months working, then 3 months off in the summer. St. Luke’s understands the importance of a positive work environment to not only attract and retain nurses but to engage nurses in decisions that affect patient care Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo is holding a special seminar with the author of Chicken Soup for Nurse’s Soul on Tuesday, May 9th. The public is welcome to attend at 1:00 p.m. Use entrance G. E-mail Mark Geary at Mark.Geary@kcrg.
