Is there a procedure for handling an urgent or emergency appeal?

0

There is an emergency appeal process when: • The situation involves a prospective denial (a denial that involves treatment or services that have not yet been received) • The health care services are necessary to treat a condition or illness that, without immediate medical attention, would seriously jeopardize your life or health, or your ability to regain maximum function, or would cause you to be in danger to yourself or others. The emergency appeal will be answered within 24 hours of the request to CareFirst.
