The applicant is responsible for following any applicable OMB cost principles and to ensure that the budget is framed by the basic categories provided in the application. Pages 95 to 100 of the grant application include a sample budget narrative justification with examples of how to calculate per diem and how personnel time might be accounted for in the budget. Local personnel and travel rules should also be followed as applicants construct their budget narratives.
