Is there a time problem on SCO UNIX 3.2 version 4.2 and SCO OpenServer 5.0x such that time almost doubles and the system has to be rebooted repeatedly to fix it?
Yes, but this problem is only with multiple processor extension (MPX) 3.0 for SCO UNIX 3.2 version 4.2 and with MPX for SCO OpenServer 5.0x, and it only occurs on the Dell PowerEdge SP and PowerEdge XE systems. These systems use an RTC that SCO’s keyboard driver does not read correctly. There is a patch available for SCO UNIX 3.2 version 4.2; it is not known if the patch works on SCO OpenServer 5.0x. Other possible solutions are: • Run asktime about every 30 minutes so the operating system clock is synchronized with the hardware clock. • Cold boot repeatedly until the date command does not show time accelerating or doubling.
