Assuming you are using the “rich” version of webmail and not the basic version, there is a small icon in the upper right corner of the page, just to the right of the “search” box, if you mouse over that it will give you the option to display the “split pane”, which is what you want. http://forums.verizon.com/vrzn/board/message?board.id=FiOS_Internet&message.id=3677 That should give you the preview pane.
