Is There an Advantage to Preterm Delivery by Cesarean Section?
Parents often ask if there is any advantage to being born early or by cesarean section. As long as the baby is growing and developing appropriately there is no reason to deliver the baby early. However, if the baby is worsening hydrops or other complications, preterm delivery may be required. There is no advantage to cesarean delivery unless there is hydrops or other complication that prevents a safe vaginal delivery.
